Returns & Refund Policy
1. Overview
This Returns & Refund Policy applies to all purchases made through Ink Station for:
- Collection at Ink Station Parklands or Ink Station Glengarry
- Direct delivery
- Courier delivery within South Africa via The Courier Guy
By placing an order, the customer agrees to the terms outlined below.
2. Cooling-Off Period
In accordance with the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act (ECTA):
- Customers may cancel an online order within 7 (seven) days of placing the order.
- The customer is responsible for the cost of returning the goods.
- A refund will be processed once the goods are returned in their original condition.
3. Order Collection
- Customers selecting collection will be notified when the order is ready.
- Customers must not assume availability prior to receiving such notification.
- Customers may arrange their own courier for collection if preferred.
4. Delivery & Courier Terms
- Ink Station uses The Courier Guy as a third-party courier.
- Ink Station has no control over courier operations.
- Ink Station accepts no liability for delays, late deliveries, or failed delivery attempts.
- Ink Station accepts no responsibility for lack of communication by the courier.
If delivery fails due to customer unavailability:
- The customer will be liable for additional courier fees for redelivery.
If a customer cancels an order already in transit:
- The customer is liable for the initial delivery cost and return delivery cost.
5. Returns Process
- Customers may return goods using their own courier or by delivering to an Ink Station branch.
- Returned goods must be in original condition and packaging.
- Goods must not be used, damaged, or altered.
6. Faulty Goods
In line with the Consumer Protection Act:
- Customers must return suspected faulty goods for assessment.
- Ink Station or its supplier will inspect the product.
Outcomes:
- If deemed faulty: A full refund will be issued within 7 (seven) days.
- If not faulty: The customer must arrange collection or delivery at their own cost.
7. Product-Specific Limitations
- Ink Station is not liable for faulty printers or faulty print heads.
- Ink Tank products do not contain print heads.
- Print quality issues are not attributable to the ink tank cartridge itself.
- Such products are not refundable on this basis.
8. Printer Compatibility & Firmware
- Customers acknowledge that printer firmware updates may be disabled.
- Certain printers may not recognize compatible ink or toner cartridges with chips.
- Ink Station accepts no responsibility for compatibility issues arising from firmware restrictions.
9. Refunds
- Refunds will be processed within 7 (seven) days after approval.
- Refunds will be made using the original payment method.
- Goods must be returned in original condition to qualify for a refund.
10. Late Cancellations
- Cancellations requested after the 7-day cooling-off period may not be accepted.
- Ink Station may, at its discretion, offer a discount or alternative resolution if applicable.
11. Legal Notice
Nothing in this policy is intended to limit or override consumer rights provided under the Consumer Protection Act. Where applicable, statutory rights will apply.
